Anthony Joshua pays tribute to friends killed in Nigeria road accident

Joshua escaped with minor injuries in an accident that killed two of his close friends.

Antoine Joshua paid tribute to ‘brothers’ Sina Ghami and Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele after their deaths in a car accident in Nigeria last month.

The former world heavyweight champion was in the SUV, alongside sports and fitness trainer Ghami and personal trainer Ayodele, when he collided with a stationary vehicle near Lagos on December 29.

Joshua, who suffered minor injuries, is now back in the UK and earlier posted on Instagram: “Thank you for all the love and care you have shown my brothers.

“I didn’t even realize how special they were. I’ll just walk with them and make jokes with them, not even knowing that God kept me in the presence of great men.

“It’s 100% hard for me, but I know it’s even harder for their parents. I have a strong spirit and I believe God knows their hearts. May God have mercy on my brothers.”

Joshua celebrated his victory over Jake Paul

Joshua was in Nigeria, where he has family roots, for the New Year to celebrate his victory against Jake Paul in Miami before Christmas.

The driver of the SUV, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, was charged in Nigeria on Friday with death by dangerous driving.
