Glasgow Rangers are would be in talks to sign Danish striker Andreas Skov Olsen on loan from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg until the end of the season.
The Light Blues are expected to complete a deal to sign the right winger on a temporary basis, a year after his £12million move to Germany from Club Brugge.
Skov Olsen won’t be the first player to arrive at Ibrox to strengthen Danny RohlSure, Tochi Chukwuani joined the team from Sturm Graz on Sunday, but he could be the first attacking addition.
According to WhoScored, no current Gers winger has scored more than two goals or provided more than two assists in the league. Scottish Premiershipsomething the Dane, given his career record shown in the graphic below, could change by the end of the campaign.
However, the 26-year-old maestro may not be the only striker to walk through the door at Ibrox before the window closes early next month.
While they traveled to Austria to recruit a midfielder and to Germany to recruit a right winger, the Light Blues are reportedly looking a little closer to home for a new striker.
According to the HeraldGlasgow Rangers have made contact with Hibernian for updates on centre-forward Kieron Bowie’s situation with the Premiership side during the January transfer window.
The report claims they want to be kept informed of any developments regarding his future at Easter Road, amid interest from rivals Celtic.
He adds that the Hoops, now managed again by Martin O’Neill, have expressed an interest in the Scotland star, as they look to add a center forward of their own this month.
The Herald reveals that Hibernian would want a fee of around £6.5 million if clubs decide to make offers for the striker in the coming weeks, with interest from England teams as well as Rangers and Celtic.
If the Rangers can win the race to sign the Scottish shooter, Bowie would be the perfect complement to team up with Skov Olsen in the second half of the season.
In the Premiership and Europa League combined, Youssef Chermiti has scored four goals at 4.78 xG and Bojan Miovski has scored four goals at 4.22 xG, according to FotMob.
Bowie, meanwhile, has scored eight goals on 5.83 xG in the Premiership for Hibernian, according to FotMob, meaning he has scored as many league goals as Miovski and Chermiti managed together domestically and in Europe, while also finishing off their chances with greater efficiency.
The 23-year-old star, who scored a stunning goal against Partizan in a Conference League qualifier earlier this season, also scored six goals at 3.43 xG in the Premiership last season, according to FotMob, meaning he has scored 14 goals at 9.26 xG in the division since the start of the 2024/25 campaign.
These statistics suggest that Bowie, described as a “threat” between posts from Rangers Journal creator Kai Watson is the dream striker for any creative player who wants their number nine to make the most of the chances he creates.

The stats in the table above show that Skov Olsen has not been rewarded with the assists his creativity deserved over the last two and a half seasons, with 17 assists from 33 ‘big chances’ created since the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
This suggests he would be happy to play with a centre-forward who can make the most of the high-quality chances he has consistently created during his time at Club Brugge.
Bowie missed just five “big chances” before scoring 14 league goals since the start of last season for Hibernian, according to Sofascore, suggesting he is the sort of striker who would thrive alongside Skov Olsen.
This is why the Scottish marksman could be the ideal signing after taking the Dane on loan, as their potential partnership in the final third could be deadly for Danny Rohl’s side.
As an established Premiership player, who has demonstrated his qualities with Hibs for almost two seasons in the top flight, he could also have a good chance of breaking in without needing much adaptation time.
